1. The service

RoutFuel helps you find fuel and EV-charging options and plan trips. Prices shown may be live (from Google, via a Pro subscription or your own API key), community-reported, or estimated — each result is labeled. Estimates are informed guesses, not quotes. Always confirm the price at the pump or charger. Routes, ETAs, and toll information are best-effort and may differ from real conditions.

2. Your own API keys (BYOK)

You may optionally add your own Google API keys in Settings. Your key, your billing, your responsibility. By default a key you enter is stored only on your device and calls go directly from your browser to Google — we never receive it. A key entered in the app is visible on that device (for example to anyone with access to your unlocked phone or browser, or if your device is compromised by malicious software or websites). We are not responsible for stolen, leaked, or misused keys or for any charges they incur. We recommend restricting your keys in Google Cloud Console and setting billing alerts.

3. Saving keys to your account (optional)

If you tick “Save this key to my account”, that key is sent over HTTPS to our server and stored with your account so it can sync to other devices where you sign in. We use it only to fill your own settings — never for other users and never for our own calls. You can remove it at any time by unticking the box. The same risk note above applies on every device the key syncs to, and we are likewise not responsible for misuse resulting from a compromised device or account.

4. Accounts & what we store

Signing in uses your Google account; we never see your password. On our server we store: your email address, your Pro status, community price reports you submit (with approximate location), and — only if you opt in — the API keys described in section 3. Community reports are shared with other users anonymously. We don't sell your data.

5. Pro subscription & ads

Pro provides live prices and AI trip features processed on our servers, subject to fair-use rate limits. Subscriptions are billed via Stripe and can be cancelled anytime, effective at the end of the billing period. Features may evolve over time.

RoutFuel costs real money to run — the domain, our servers, and the API calls behind live prices and AI features. Pro subscriptions and occasional ads are what fund that. If you use your own API keys, watching an ad now and then keeps the platform free for you; if you'd rather skip both the keys and the ads, that's what Pro is for.

6. Acceptable use

Don't abuse the service: no scraping, no attempting to extract keys or bypass limits, no false community reports. We may suspend accounts that do.

7. No warranty

RoutFuel is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including costs arising from price differences, routing, third-party API charges, or stolen credentials.

8. Changes

We may update these terms; the “last updated” date above will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms.
